A Wonderful Friend and Neighbour

Created by Steve 3 years ago

For the last 27 years, Graham and Jill have been the best neighbours anyone could wish for. Graham will be very sadly missed, but our lasting memories of him will be of a cheerful, helpful and generous man, who would do anything he could to help those around him. So many things I could mention, from fixing conked-out lawnmowers to climbing on top of my shed roof to help me weatherproof it! Graham was always ready with sage advice and a willingness to get stuck in and sort problems out. In return, I tried my best to act as technical support when Graham was trying to get the next issue of the Railway Modeller's Club newsletter ready or update the Organ Club website and his computer wouldn't listen to him! With shared interests in engineering and music, there was always something to chat about. One of my fondest memories is when we were invited round one Christmas and I got chance to play some music on Graham's (newly restored) vintage Hammond organ. It was a joy to see Graham's face light up as he heard the organ played and of course we had the obligatory discussion about the various inner workings of the instrument! Graham never ceased to amaze us with his resilience, enthusiasm and positivity. This summer will not be the same without those little chats over the fence and the sight of Graham making the latest modifications to his garden railway. He will be fondly remembered for all these things and for his great kindness to us as a family.

God Bless, Graham.

Love,

Steve, Anita, Daniel and Matthew
